In detail—On Monday, October 16, the 2006 Beyond Margins Award Summer (sponsored by the PEN Open Book Committee, which founded the award in 1999) will take place in midtown Manhattan, in the Auditorium of Donnell Library Center. This is NOT the Central Research Library—where the lionsare—but another of New York Public Library’s flagship libraries*.**it is, however, where the bear is: the original Winnie the Pooh,
Piglet and others are displayed in Children’s Room upstairs

The October 16 event will be hosted by novelist Elizabeth Nunez who is Chair of PEN’s Open Book Committee, with poet Sonia Sanchez as guest host. Elizabeth will open the event with comments and introductions
(roughly, 7:05-7:10PM).

Novelist Russell Banks, poet/playwright/novelist Jessica Hagedorn and actress Lili Taylor (Factotum, Six Feet Under, I Shot Andy Warhol) will present your work during the first portion of the program (roughly, 7:15PM-7:50PM).
