VietREADS! is the latest effort in the California Cultural Crossroads grant program being implemented by the San José Public Library and the Viet-American Cultural Foundation. As San José is home to the largest community of Vietnamese outside of Vietnam, these activities promote the Library services, programs, and collections among this large Vietnamese community.

Ten Vietnamese authors have been invited to give Poetry readings, read from their novels, give cooking demonstrations, provide historical accounts of the Vietnam war experience, and give talks on the music of Vietnam in a series starting March 10 and continuing through May 5. Programs will be presented bilingually or in Vietnamese and are free and open to the general public.
