NAM Round Table
The NAM Round Table consists of news, insights, visions, ramblings and rants from the writers at New America Media.
Senator Barack Obama’s ascendancy to the highest office was paved by many talented folks, and other phenomena, and if I were in a position to give awards I would give them to.. 1. Tina Fey for bringing down Sara Palin singlehandedly. Her impersonation of the woman was outstanding and after that first SNL skit, people couldn’t help but laugh each time they see the real Sarah. Palin went from being impeccable to being a caricature. Worst, Fey did most of that by reading the transcript of the Katie Couric interview with the vetted VP ticket verbatim.
3. Youtube.. for being Youtube… and more people being creative on the individual level than ever before and being expressive… and political too.. (I love youtube). That Tina Fey SNL skit had millions and millions of hits, and NBC later had to reclaim its SNL videos… Youtube is sort of like a virtual world library of all things visual. 4. Obama’s Grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, who died before she saw her grandson reached glory. “She poured everything she had into me,” he said. A deeply touching story and he gave such a touching tribute in her honor. 5. Facebook.. Cuz it’s so beyond moveon.org … people moved on to organize, fundraise, volunteer, throw parties on OBama’s behalf.. and well it’s cool. 6. Colin Powell… A republican who spoke up against the negative tone of the McCain’s campaign. saying it like it is. His endorsement for Obama was an important moment in American politics. 7. Everyone who turned out to vote, esp. first time voters. It made this election the first in so many ways. At least 130 million Americans cast votes. Feel free to add names to the list….. comments |

Katie Couric for the interview that showed everyone that the emperor wasn’t wearing any clothes
By Joe · Posted on Nov 5, 07:43 PMJohn McCain for picking such a stinker in Sarah Palin who is still embroiled in her new wardrobe controversy. it turns out that her aides continued to buy clothes for her and her family with their own private credit cards in tens of thousands of dollars even after the story of 150 k shopping spree hit and now her clothes and those of her husband’s and children are still in Alaska and need to be retrieved.
By psi · Posted on Nov 6, 10:15 AMIn my opinion, I hope Sarah Palin never moves forward to represent citizens in government. Her comments and actions said it all about her ability and depth. I also hope she is prosecuted for her wrong doings and I believe there are more than meets the eye.
By Chris Rushmeier · Posted on Nov 7, 08:21 AMre Palin: This is the case of the empress has Too Much clothes. McCain’s aides called the Palin “looters”. Let’s see if her daughter marries now that she ain’t no vp.
