RE: “Buddhism Roots Deeply in America”
In this article, Mr. Lam states, “Yet, despite Buddhism’s message of inner peace and compassion, it, in its own way, is a very radical spiritual practice for its refutation of the existence of a creator.”
To the best of my knowledge the Buddha did not deny the existence of one or more creator beings. Rather he considered it an imponderable, not worthy of consideration for one dedicated to the Path.
Setting-up Buddhism as specifically atheistic only creates a barrier to the Buddha’s goal of the elimination of suffering for All beings.
