Photos by John J. Tipton, The Porterville Recorder, Noticiero Semanal Around 100 people marched along Road 196 in Plainview, Calif. They walked the distance of a new buffer zone designated for aerial spraying of pesticides. Californians for Pesticide Reform and the Center on Race Poverty and the Environment held a march and rally on Wednesday February 20th in the rural Tulare County community of Plainview to celebrate a victory in protecting rural residents from pesticides being sprayed from airplanes as the buffer zone has been expanded by a 1/4 mile.
Earlimart resident Teresa DeAnda, one of the the event organizers and a local force with Californians for Pesticide Reform, spoke during the rally.
