Scientists and community outreach representatives at the Lawrence Hall of Science in Berkeley, Calif. met with the ethnic media on Thursday, Feb. 28. The event “Math and Science in Diverse Media: Reporting Stories that Affect Our Lives” highlighted several activities: free twice-monthly star gazing parties; family days and family-centered teaching projects taking place in diverse communities; and a new software system being installed in the LHS planetarium.

Due to its picturesque view of the Bay Area from atop the Berkeley hills, the site also hosts many weddings throughout the year.
