Mother’s Day, a day to honor the one who brought us into this world, occurs on the second Sunday in May in several countries. Its origins differ around the world and thus it is celebrated on different days in different regions.

In the U.S. Mother’s Day was intended as a call to unite women against the Civil War. Originally, it was to be Mother’s Day for Peace.
