Young women enjoying the sea waters in Aqaba (العقبة, al-ʻAqabah), a coastal town of 70,000 in the far south of Jordan. Aqaba is strategically important to Jordan as it is the country’s only seaport. It is best known today as a diving and beach resort. It is also an exporter of phosphate and shells.
