This young man wears a headscarf with the American flag while standing in historic but crumbling British Residency in the princely city of Lucknow. India just marked 60 years of Independence from British rule on August 15. Coincidentally the current government has just inked a civilian nuclear deal with the Americans which has been attacked by some of the political parties in India as kowtowing to another empire – the American one.
