On California’s AARP Day at the Capitol Aug. 22, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Speaker of the Assembly Fabian Nunez and Senate pro Tem Don Perata addressed more than 2,500 AARP members and encouraged them to pressure elected state officials to pass health care reform legislation this year. AARP members, including AARP president-elect Jennie Chin Hansen, had gathered to demonstrate their support for affordable quality health care.

Following the rally, 22 delegations of AARP members and people who had health care stories visited with legislators in the Capitol.
