Students For Chinatown Campus

Students For Chinatown Campus
Students For Chinatown Campus by Ariel Soto. Soto is currently a Journalism student at City College of San Francisco.

Jason Zeng, Vice President of the Associated Student Council at City College San Francisco Chinatown Campus, poses with protest signs, September 27, 2007.

Zeng helped organize students to attend the Board of Trustees meeting and support the building of the new Chinatown Campus. There are several new designs being considered for the new campus, including a 16-story high-rise which most students are in favor of, but in order for this design to be approved the City College Board of Trustees must exempt the school from city regulations since the building exceeds normal height regulations given by San Francisco city ordinances.

The board will vote on the final design on October 18, 2007, but in the mean time students are organizing postcard campaigns where they have gathered over 10,000 signatures, urging the board of trustees to be a voice for the students and approve the 16-story Chinatown building.
