MIDI Punks by Chas Pope. Punks attend the Midi Music Festival in May 2007. The four-day festival, occurring annually since it began in 2000, is widely known as China’s largest outdoor music event. This year, 90 bands and 57 musicians from China and abroad performed across five stages. The performances showcased the entire spectrum of Chinese and international music, including rock, electronica, hip-hop and sound art. Environmental group Greenpeace co-sponsored the festival.
