New America Media and the Oakland Ballet convened a press conference for the ethnic media Dec. 7 at the company’s practice studio.

This year marks the 35th anniversary performance of Ronn Guidi’s Nutcracker. Guidi, Artistic Director of the Oakland Ballet Co., came out of six-year retirement in 2007 to bring the company back to life after it closed for a year.
