[ filed under: politics race-relations ] Recently Obama took a break and veered off of the campaign trail to visit his critically ill Grandmother. Many, including Obama, speculated as to whether she would make it to see Election Day, and cheer on her grandson’s historic bid for the presidency. It would seem fitting, in an almost fairy tail like chain of events, that his Grandmother passed away today, November 3rd, one day before the election. Although his Grandmother’s condition has been serious for some weeks and it was expected that she could pass any day, there is some symbolism in her passing one day before Obama’s big day. I like to think that she passed away knowing that he would win, and content in his victory and the sum of her life, she laid it all down before God, and went to the pearly gates with a smile on her face. It reminds me of the last scene in Bicentennial Man, where Robin Williams was waiting to hear the verdict on whether or not after all his journey he would be considered a human being. While the jury was still out, he passed away, moments before the judge ruled that he was indeed a human being and not a robot. See the movie and you’ll get it. Now Obama has to win, it would only make sense. VIDEO: Jazmyne pays tribute to her great-grandmother comments |

As you may have heard, Barack Obama’s grandmother Madelyn Dunham died on Sunday, November 2nd. Obama didn’t receive the news until Monday, the 3rd—just one day prior to Election Day. Luckily for Obama, he had the opportunity to see his grandmother “Toot” in late October. He called her Toot, his shorthand for “tutu,” a Hawaiian term for grandparent. It doesn’t change that Toot’s death couldn’t have come at a worse time for Obama. The death of a loved one is hard enough as it is; it always seems to happen at the worst time in life—when you’re extremely busy and money is tight. Affording travel costs and funeral costs can be so overwhelming and sometimes impossible. Who needs something else to worry about in that kind of situation? That’s why you should check out short term installment loans if you’re ever faced with the costs associated with losing a loved one. Installment loans can help reduce stress in an already overly-stressful situation.

The MVP award of Major League Baseball has gone this year, for only the fifth time in history, to a second baseman. The honoree is Dustin Pedroia , a multi-talented player from Woodland, California, plying his trade for the Boston Red Sox. A player whose talent had been largely influenced by his desire, Pedroia doesn’t like to miss a workout, whether it is November or any other month of the year. But at the urging of his wife, Kelli, Pedroia finally gave himself a day off. He ably does for the BoSox what short term installment loans can do for your budget if you’re in a temporary jam. He won the Rookie of the Year award in 2007 for the American League, and that season was certainly an indicator that Boston had a fireball on their roster. At 5’8”, and 180 lbs Pedroia turned in an impressive .326 batting average, 83 RBI, 54 doubles, and 52 strikeouts from 653 at bats. He was also 20 for 21 in stolen bases, and he barely missed the batting title, which went to Joe Mauer of the Minnesota Twins. Oh yeah, and he’s a Golden Glove winner on defense, and the last second base player to receive that award was in 1959 (Nellie Fox, of the Chicago White Sox.) Like installment loans¸ he’s there for the team when he’s needed. The no hassle, no frills approach that he brings to the table makes for powerful service. Small loans when you are in a temporary budget crunch can jumpstart your financial bullpen in the same way. Click to read more on Short Term Installment Loans.
