  1. I wanted to say that I appreciated what Jazmyne had to say. I also wanted to add that as a Color specialist/Stylist at a high end beauty spa that predominately serves white woman, the beauty industry does have a monopoly! Beauty and diversity, in all races is the issue. All the woman going to the spa I work at go every 5-10 weeks, looking to pay and maintain a look or change the one they are already wearing. Because black or white woman are looking for diversity, it does not mean that they don’t like what they look like… just wanting something different. After all, all the clothes in our wardrobe are different styles, textures, colors etc. And There are many more white woman wearing tracks of hair(either glued or sewed) for longer fuller hair. I applaud ethnic woman for knowing that they too can change their minds about the color, texture, and shape of their hair. And what about tanning? I for one am a Latina woman and I feel much better tanned in the winter so I often go to the tanning booth.. As a woman of color, I love myself…but I love who I can become and change into whenever the desire suits me.
