YO!
YO! is a collection of short pieces by the writers at Youth Outlook!
![]() In recent weeks, health care reform has been in the news everyday, and everyday I change the channel. Since I’m pretty healthy, besides my asthma and knee problems, I don’t see my doctor regularly. Also, since they changed my doctor when I turned 18, I’ve only seen the new one twice and we just don’t get along. I’ve heard that if you like the plan you have, you can keep it, so what’s the big issue? Seems like the reform is helping those who want to be helped, and leaving those alone, who want to be left alone. Well, I have no problems with my coverage. My father has worked at the same job over 30 years and I’m covered on his insurance until I’m 25. In six years, I hope to have my own so right now the whole health care issue is NOT an issue to me. comments |

Do a little more reading, Alicia. Nobody will be left alone. Everyone will pay for this in the increased taxes needed to fund the programs as well as a decrease in payments to doctors. When the doctors get a decrease in funding for what the government mandates they treat…then the doctors will discontinue treating. Then what?
I suggest you read on the subject. And not what is on a blog or on a post. Ask to read the entire bill that is being presented. Call your congressman/woman and tell them you want to READ it. Not just listen to what they say.
