YO!
YO! is a collection of short pieces by the writers at Youth Outlook!
[ filed under: conflict transportation ] The incident that happened between the muni agent and young girl was very unprofessional. The agent had no right to put his hands on a young girl. If the MUNI agent felt this young girl was lying and not paying the correct MUNI fare, he should have used his experience as a MUNI veteran to call the MUNI police to verify the girl’s age. I am outraged over this incident because I’ve had trouble with MUNI in the past. A muni operator threatened me over a Youth Fast Pass when I was 17-years-old. The operator accused me of using the wrong pass and insisted that I was an adult, not a teenager. We went back and forth and argued for quite a while. The operator threatens he would throw me off the bus if I didn’t willingly get off the bus on my own. So I had to get off the bus. A lot of parents get frightened about incidents that happen on MUNI and feel conflicted about if they want their kids to ride MUNI. I think MUNI should hire agents who are friendly to the public and willing to perform their workplace duties professionally. comments |

I do not feel bad for these girls , I ride the muni bus and rail every day to school and It states what the fares are and that you need ID for discounts. Many times I have witnessed rude youth or adults get in the bus drivers face of put thier hands on them , so in my words these kids were tought a lesson about how to treat people. I say good for the bus driver
