Nearly five years ago Britney Spears was everywhere. And I’m not just saying that for fluff either. You couldn’t go a five mile radius without bobbing your head to “Baby One More Time”, seeing Brit’s naval flashed on some T.V. screen or having little girls parade around in catholic school outfits mimicking her music video.

Now, the beauty and the fame that was once Britney Spears has been reduced to being synonymous with ‘K-Fed’and ‘rehab’. Having entered rehab twice in less than a week and shaved her head bald Britney has become the joy that gossip and entertainment news editors dream of: ‘The Fall of the Pop Princess’; Doesn’t get much more mellow-dramatic than that.

I remember very distinctly how all the girls my age looked up to her, wanted to be her, dress like her, date the same guys as her, and be just as beautiful as she appeared to be. But now it seems the beauty so many people prescribed to worshiped is just like the saying goes—skin deep. And no matter who you are, no matter how much money or fame you have it can be undone – if you don’t take care of yourself.
