This story gave me a chuckle. I guess video games aren’t the only thing pushing kids into school violence; it is also their parents. Apparently the whole “use your words” alternative to defusing a fight doesn’t quite do the same as an old fashion smack down.
Let’s hear a hooray for parenting 101.

It is so great to see that parents are taking an active role in their kid’s social lives. Forget helping them with homework, and helping them talk out their feelings. Better yet! Let’s set an example they’ll never forget ever. So when they grow up they’ll be able to tell their kids, “Back when I was your age my mom let me beat up other kids instead of talking out my problems.”

First they’re endorsing school violence, next thing they’re having their kids buy wedding dresses based off the Disney princesses. I cry for the future. Props to feministing.com for posting the Disney story.
