YO!
YO! is a collection of short pieces by the writers at Youth Outlook!
[ filed under: technology middle-east ] This just irks me in all sorts of different directions. First, the U.S. government does not properly protect these soldiers who are out there in the Middle East risking their lives, and who without the adequate body armor and such. Then, they extend their tour of duty and decide to send even more troops to Iraq even though the situation is getting worse. And now! Just when you think life couldn’t get any crappier while serving in a war torn country – they censor their Internet use. So, say you’re really, really, really, far from home. And occasionally you go online to certain sites to “reconnect” with people via MySpace or blogging. Maybe for once the mental sanity of these people should be taken into account – rather than worrying about scammers “phishing” into the military server. As if they don’t have the money to buy a bigger, badder, scary firewall system. Please… What’s almost as bad is letting 10-year-old in Illinois get a gun permit. This story goes without saying. |
