YO!
YO! is a collection of short pieces by the writers at Youth Outlook!
[ filed under: women spirituality ] Becoming 2008 is a Christian magazine for women. This magazine boasts the New Testament but is also liberally sprinkled with a few bonuses like monthly calendars that suggest activities like “Give a non-Christian friend a bible”, ‘All About Men’ and ‘Q & A’. While Becoming 2008 is a positive magazine that promotes female’s faith, love and knowledge of god, it still has things to work on. Making the magazine more modern and less sexist would be a good start. The ‘All About Men’ columns, I feel, are incredibly unnecessary to the strengthening of your relationship with God. I understand that Becoming 2008 has been written for women but I feel that there are more important things that this magazine should be addressing if it wants to be a revolutionary tool to promote God. Important issues aren’t really tackled in this magazine. They do not address things that most young women may age struggle with. They don’t address modern issues so they can’t expect to convert too many people, the issues that are addressed in this magazine aren’t ones that many young women would find relevant to themselves. I do respect the effort that Becoming 2008 made but I feel that they have a long way to go before they become something great, relevant and revolutionary. comments |

The project seems to be a PR way to increase the audience. I agree with Jasmine at the point that the Bible-zine should be oriented to the actual women problems. Its content should be working .
