YO!
YO! is a collection of short pieces by the writers at Youth Outlook!
Just recently, a former high school music teacher at Capuchino High School in San Bruno was arrested as a result to having unlawful relations with a 17-year-old female at the high school in which he taught. Adam Albrecht was nearly ten years older than the student. According to the mother, her suspicions arose when she found text messages the man sent the student on the her phone. Albrecht pleaded to a misdemeanor charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor for providing the girl with alcohol and marijuana. He also pleaded no contest in July to one count each of oral copulation with a minor and unlawful sexual intercourse. Mr. Albrecht was sentenced to 16 months in state prison and was sentenced to three years of probation as well. To be honest, I am surprised that the man only got sentenced to 16 months in state prison with three years of probation. I feel like the man being twenty-eight years of age, should have known not to have a relationship with the under aged student. In my opinion, he deserves the time he was sentenced to and there is no excuse for what he did. I don’t feel like it was appropriate to negotiate with the perpetrator for a plea bargain. I feel like the judge and DA were too easy on the man and that they needed to make an example of Adam Albrecht and make a clear point to the residents in the bay area that it is not cool to mess with little girls and that there will be repercussions for perverted actions. |
