Young Boxer Rising Above The Stereotype

I was really impressed by Ronny Rios after reading about him. He doesn’t even look like a boxer, but as the saying goes you can’t judge a book by its cover. Reading his article made me want to box more, and not give up.

I have high hopes for this kid. Man, he’s only 17 and he is really good, not to mention undefeated. The thing that shocked me the most is when he talks about dieting and how hard it is to loose weight and while trying to eat what you need to eat and avoiding the foods you shouldn’t be eating. He made me realize more how boxing is a really hard sport. You can learn how to throw a jab and a hook but its not easy because you got to learn more and practice, practice, practice. It takes months and years to develop those kinds of skills, and constantly training hard even though you’re tired and lazy as hell and sore. If you got to have the dedication, the mindset, and the heart then you have it. Most of all, there is a lot of hungry people out there in the boxing world. Every boxer thinks the same as you do, for example if you’re scared you may never know he might be scared too.

Ronny has taught me this but to tell you the truth I already knew this but he made me just realize how it is very important to train in boxing. If he can do this anybody can, no matter what size they are, how they look or the way they dress because to me anybody can be a boxer or be who they want to be. People say you to have the gift and the talent but you can build it. You can have it. Who cares what people say because I know Ronny will be a champion one-day and live the life of the boxing world. I hope one day I meet him and get his autograph. To me he looks like a humble kid; to me he looks like a warrior.

Ronny is going to turn pro at 19 in the next 2 years. That’s really young and a good start. I have high hopes for you, Ronny. I’m very proud that he never gives up. Keep it up Ronny, keep it up and don’t give up because I’m not going to give up no matter the consequences and no matter the cost.
