Hype Just Don't Do It

So the verdict is in after the first week of sails according to Nielsen Sounds can: Kanye West sold 957,000 copies to 50 Cent 691,000 copies.

This being the second week after the beef I thought I’d throw my opinion in on why Mr. West turned 50 into about 45 cents Canadian…

I know what 50 Cent has to say, he said it all on his first CD (Get Rich or Die Trying) he likes money, woman, expensive cars and booze. He undoubtedly will threaten you, via headphones, with some kind of bodily harm. He’s pretty predictable when it comes down to lyrical content. Which isn’t saying much because Kanye is the same; he also likes money woman expensive cars and booze—go figure. He, unlike 50, is less likely to threaten you, unless you’re MTV. Even though Kanye is no better, he seems to have more commercial appeal. You don’t see 50 running around with a man dressed in a giant teddy bear costume. Kanye, despite his tantrums, I don’t think would be a bad person to sit down and have dinner with. I think most people feel that way. 50cent on the other hand might be inclined to bust a cap in your ass (yea I said it.).

I didn’t buy either CD ‘cause I just wanted to stay out of the whole competition. I got the Kanye CD from a friend and previewed 50’s CD on iTunes. The song with J.T is good, don’t tell my friends I said that.

I don’t feel like either CD will matter in hip hop world in five years, but hey, I’ve been wrong before (sike). I’m glad this little dispute is over now—we can go on to bigger and better beefs like who would win in a slap boxing match Kid Rock or Tommy Lee?
