Dress Code, Smesh Code: Socks and all

When I think of the word: dress code, the intro to the intro the show Weeds featured on ShowTime plays on repeat in my head.

Apparently in Napa, Redwood Middle School a strict dress code aimed at deferring gang violence was sucked into a whirlwind of controversy when in 2006 the school removed the seventh-grader Toni Kay Scott from her classroom because Scott was wearing the famous Winnie the Pool character, Tigger.

Oh yes. Tigger, that guy is an animal: hopping everything; knocking people over. That guy is a symbol for violence – everywhere.

In the settlement of the case, where the Plaintiffs sued the school because of the dress code, students and parents will be allowed to opt out of the dress code, also the school district has agreed to pay the plaintiff’s lawyer fees totaling up to $95,000.

Seriously though, socks??? Do they have a crazy lady at the entrance of the school that specializes in detecting cute socks? The girl might as well have worn a shirt that said “Fuck the School District” at least that may have made a little more sense that they decided to throw a crazy Administrative tantrum. Really though, whoever decided to make this an issue puts the letter ‘A’ in anal.
