YO!
YO! is a collection of short pieces by the writers at Youth Outlook!
Before I address the current “super” event I must address the one this past weekend. In the wake of what I’m sure will be go down in history as the worst Sunday of my life, I am forced to forget the Super Bowl and move on. Though I am trying to be big about this and put the past behind me the events that took place on Feb. 3rd 08’ are still very fresh in my mind. So, for anyone that has the malicious gall to heckle me rather than grant me the decency of solace in my time of extreme woe you must know you are in very realistic danger of being choke slammed by a very pissed of Pats fan. Now on to more important issues: Decision 2008. This being the first time I’m am old enough to vote I have to say it’s exiting. I’ve always wondered what it looked like from inside of one of those booths; is it colorful, are there tiny refreshments like when you give blood? Even though I’m registered in Oakland and have to navigate the unfamiliar streets on my bike to a high school gym somewhere on Campbell Street, I still can’t wait to do my part in the name of sweet democracy. For the issues that pertain to California I can’t wait to stick it to those casinos or to those Indians or California or whoever the bad guy is in those commercials that play a million times a day. To tell the truth I can’t remember what the reasons were they told me to vote no or yes on, so I think I split it evenly. Right down the middle—I think I will do that… As for the big decision B-Rock or Hillary, if you have read anything I have written on the election… ever, you know where my alliances lay. I’ve been a Barack fan for some time now and I’m glad I finally get a chance to show my support, even if it means risking a flat tire. |
